The advantages of a plain-vanilla template: As far as I can tell, my blog looks exactly the same in this "New Blogger" version. Or not :(
Update: Bummer--My long-winded post titles get cut short in the "Previous Posts" list on my sidebar. :( Does anyone have any idea how I could fix that, or I am going to have to learn to write titles short enough to fit the new limit (which seems to vary from 41-47 characters)? (Darn--Succinct titles are not my style.) Sheyna, my go-to person for template problems, just gave me the bad news (in the comments to the previous post): "I don't code in php." Help! Any takers?

Hey~ I just did a net search and all I could come up with is quite a few people complaining that Blogger truncates the length of archived titles. Most of these folks either found a way to shorten their titles or moved to another blog provider, frequently WordPress 2.0.
I tried several things on my blog to no avail and couldn't come up with any third-party fixes. Not that there aren't any, just that I couldn't find them. I'm sorry I couldn't help!
Sad to think that I'm now "old generation" because I still code in HTML. I'll leave the coding in JAVA and PHP to the young'uns (that is, folks under 30).
;-)
I'm not sure a low-tech type like me would survive a switch to a completely different blog provider.
" . . . old generation," huh? Tell me about it. I'll be 58 years old in less than an hour. :)
